Zainab "Lola" Giwa is a board-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, dually certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health from UNC Charlotte, followed by her nursing degree and dual Master of Science in Nursing—Family and Psychiatric Mental Health—from Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. She is currently pursuing her Doctor of Nursing Practice. Lola has built her clinical experience across Johns Hopkins, the University of Maryland, and outpatient pediatrics, giving her a well-rounded perspective on caring for patients across the lifespan.
Lola is passionate about treating the whole person, recognizing the deep connection between physical health and mental wellbeing. She brings a warm, approachable style to her practice, working collaboratively with clients and families to build individualized treatment plans that support lasting growth. Her background across pediatric, family, and psychiatric care allows her to meet clients wherever they are, with compassion and without judgment.
Outside of the clinic, Lola stays active through hiking and traveling, and has coached kids' soccer—bringing the same encouragement and team spirit to the field that she brings to her practice.
