Dr. DeLeonardo, DNP, PMHNP-BC

Dr. DeLeonardo is a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. During her undergraduate studies, Dr. DeLeonardo worked in a private psychiatric practice dealing with various aspects of patient care including brain mapping and biofeedback. While raising her family, she returned to school and graduated magna cum laude from two nursing programs while working and caring for patients and their families.

Dr. DeLeonardo has worked for many years in the outpatient psychiatric setting. Her career highlights include creating and implementing a hospital-wide educational program for non-psychiatric nurses at the University of Maryland Medical Center for the evaluation of suicidal ideation and developing a Clinical Practice Guideline for the Prevention and Management of Workplace Violence in the outpatient mental health setting. Dr. DeLeonardo specializes in the psychopharmacological treatment of adolescent and adult patient populations. Her years of training and experience in varied settings contribute to her holistic approach when working with patients and their families. Fluent in English and Spanish, Dr. DeLeonardo aims to provide appropriate family-centered and culturally-competent psychiatric care to all patients.
